Merits and Awards

·         IC Health Hackathon 2020:  Received the runner-up award for the NHSx (U.K.’s National Health Service) category after demonstrating an end-to-end pipeline for streamlining access to blood test results while simultaneously providing more context around them via NHS’s APIs.

·         National Finnish Young Scientist Competition (TuKoKe) 2016: Received an award for research in Physics, Investigating the Longitudinal Spherical Aberration of a Spherically Curved Mirror.

Work, Research, and Social Service Experience

·         R&D Internship in an Imaging Software Company using AI for Stroke Analysis Brainomix, Oxford, UK, Jul-Sep 2019

o   Developed a program in Python that reports discrepancies in clot location results from different apps.

o   Combined data from two imaging modalities (CTA and CT) in classic machine learning techniques to reduce the number of false positives in clot detection.

o   Examined CTA and CT images for ischemic stroke to establish a ground truth used for performance evaluation.

·         Master’s Project - Deep Reinforcement Learning for Tracking Imperial College London, 2019-2020

o   Improved the reward function used in a promising DRL approach for tracking structures in biomedical images.

o   The new reward function bases the network on a superior ground truth which shows promise for more accurate tracking and a lighter network architecture leading to faster processing.

·         Optimal collimation window minimizing X-Ray radiation during angiography Imperial College London, 2018-2019

o   Worked in a team to develop a software in MATLAB enabling reduction of X-Ray dosage received by a patient.

o   Used image processing techniques to achieve automatic determination of a collimation window visualised in a GUI.

o   Demonstrated an attenuation of 39.9% in radiation versus 28.3% using the standard, asymmetric collimation.

·         UNICEF on Campus Committee Fundraising Officer Imperial College London, 2018-2019

o   Met the society’s fundraising target for the year by thinking of creative ways to raise money.

o   Initiated and organized a largescale event, Spring Showcase, held in collaboration with other societies.

·         Robogals Society Member Imperial College London, 2017-2018

o   Taught basic robotics to sixth form children. Promotes children, especially girls, into STEM subjects.
